McCall MacBain Scholarships

The first comprehensive, leadership-focused master’s and professional degree awards in the country are the McGill McCall MacBain awards. With the help of a historic $200 million donation, John and Marcy McCall MacBain announced the scholarships in February 2019. At the time, it was the biggest contribution in Canadian history. Based on their experience working with some of the best scholarships in the world over the years, such as the Rhodes Scholarships in Oxford, the Mandela Rhodes Scholarships in Cape Town, and the Kupe Scholarships in New Zealand, they felt that Canada needed a comprehensive master’s-level scholarship that builds on academic excellence but goes beyond it.
